About Us

Liberty Elementary School, part of the Clovis Unified School District, opened its doors on September 3, 1991, to serve the growing communities of northeast Fresno. Located at 1250 E. Liberty Hill Road, the school was established during a period of rapid expansion within the district and has since built a reputation for academic excellence, character development, and strong community partnerships. As the Home of the Skyhawks, Liberty serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade, providing a well-rounded educational experience that emphasizes leadership, the arts, athletics, and academic achievement.

Throughout its history, Liberty Elementary has earned numerous prestigious honors that reflect its commitment to educational excellence. The school was named a California Distinguished School in 1998, 2018, and 2025, recognizing outstanding student achievement and innovative educational programs. It also received the National Blue Ribbon School award from the U.S. Department of Education in 1998, 2019, and again in 2025, one of the nation's highest honors for public schools. In addition, Liberty was honored with the 2018 Bonner Center for Character Education Elementary School Character Education Award and the 2018 Fresno Compact Business-School Partnership Award for its strong collaboration with the local community. These achievements highlight Liberty Elementary's long-standing tradition of academic excellence, exceptional teaching, and dedication to developing students of strong character.
